Presentation at the Ústí nad Labem Library

Students from ZŠ Stříbrnická's Erasmus+ Club presented their Forum theatre performance on the topic of discrimination to the public in Ústí's library on the 28th of June as one of the final outcomes of our Stand up for your rights! project. Teachers, students, and parents attended the event. The  Mayor of Severni Terasa, Mrs. Zrniková, the library director, Mrs. Linhartová and our headmaster, Mr. Ševcovic, came to say a few words of appreciation.

Students and teachers shared their experiences of the project.  The audience could see the photo slideshow from all five project mobilities and school activities and we discussed the project’s impact on our school and community.

Ústí nad Labem Celebrates MLK Jr. Day

The Czech Erasmus+ Team learned about an important American hero during this week's meeting.
The group watched a video about the life of the famous civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The United States honors Dr. King's life and struggle for equality every year on the third Monday in January. The club also discussed various methods of non-violent resistance to oppression, including boycotts, peaceful protests, public demonstrations and strikes. Students were asked how they can apply these same principles of non-violence in their own day-to-day encounters.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s teachings have a lot in common with those of Czech president Vaclav Havel. The ideas and values that these men bravely fought for, which led to imprisonment and threats of violence for both, are central to the story of human rights. Both of these inspiring leaders knew how to stand up for their rights!

Independence Day in Poland

On the 11th of November we celebrate an Independence Day in Poland. The date is very important for all the Polish people - on 11th November 1918 Poland regained its independence at the end of World War I. After more than a century of foreign rule and the struggle for the right to freedom Poland appeared on the map of Europe again.

This year in our school we organized a patriotic game for all the students. Each class had to prepare to different competitions, eg. to sing patriotic song, to present a tableau, to pass the history test. We all had a great time but also a chance to find out more about the history of our country.

Kohta kotona

Terveiset Madridista, jonne Cartagenan ja Murcian kautta tänään matkasimme. Aikamoinen viikko takana: draamaa & ihmisoikeuksia Espanjan tiimin näkökulmasta, kulttuuria, ystäviä, itkua ja hillitöntä naurua. Tästä on hyvä jatkaa. Huomenna kohti Helsinkiä. Kiitos! 💜
